Additional Info
More Details
MATERIALS: Steel.
FINISH: Textured powder coated.
MAST: Upright mast is made up by the frame of the hoist. Battery attachment onto mast is at the rear under the push handle.
BASE: U-shaped base. Adjustable width of the legs using a battery powered mechanism operated from the hand control.
BOOM: Twin boom is called a lift bar. It is straight and has two looped attachment points for the sling. The boom is adjustable in length using two screw releases. Two rubber gripped handles are attached to the boom for the user to place their hands.
ARC OF LIFT: The rigid lift bar moves in an arced plane from horizontal to vertical.
CASTORS: The hoist has four single swivel castors with the rear two lockable.
PUSH HANDLE: A one piece, horizontal push handle is attached to the rear of the mast.
FOOTPLATE: The removable square foot plate has a slip resistant, rubber ridging finish on a powder coated steel frame.
KNEE PAD: Padded and upholstered knee pad is contoured in shape. Adjustable in depth and height using a screw release. Optional calf strap available.
METHOD OF OPERATION:
Raise and lower - hand held control on extendable cord with rocker switch.
Opening Legs of Base: is also controlled by rocker switch on the hand held control.
POWER SOURCE: The hoist is battery powered. A manually operated mechanism using an allen key is at the rear to lower the hoist if the power mechanism fails.
BATTERY RECHARGING: The battery recharger is separate to the hoist. Remove the battery and take to the recharger at a power point.
PORTABILITY: The foot plate is removable without tools. An allen key is used at four points at the base of the hoist so its top section can be dismantled from the bottom section.
SLINGS: are purchased separately. They are a 2 point nylon band sling with loop attachments. Slings are available with or without arm holds. Slings are available in 4 sizes (small, medium, large or extra large). Slings should be fitted as low as possible - around the hips and lower back rather than the under the arms.
CONTROLS: are hand held on an extendable cord. There is an emergency stop and lower button on the mast.
SAFETY FEATURES: Emergency cut off switch at the rear of the hoist is a red push button.
Supplier states the hoist will perform approximately 15 lifts per battery charge.
Method Of Use
This stand up hoist is designed to assist with the standing transfer of a person from one seated position to another seated position. The person needs to have the ability to weight bear.
The use of the sling (placed around the hips and lower back), weight bearing footplate and a cushioned, contoured knee pad provide the three points of support. The person needs to be able to lean back into the sling for it to be effective.
This style of hoist is useful for toileting and dressing tasks as it provides full access for attending to lower garments.
