FRAME
Slip resistant matting on the foot platform. The scooter has side reflectors.

SEAT The seat swivels and is height adjustable. Seat is firm, with no padding on the armrests or backrest. Armrests lift back and are width adjustable.

FOOTREST is a flat platform between the steering column and battery cover. Features slip resistant covering.

STEERING COLUMN is not angle adjustable. Folds down for transport.

FRONT WHEELS 130mm puncture resistant tyres.

REAR WHEELS 200mm puncture resistant tyres.

BATTERY CHARGING is achieved by connecting the scooter to a separate charger and then to a mains power point. Charging point is under a cover under the seat.

BATTERIES 2 x 16 amp batteries are stored in a compartment under the seat. Winged screw locks batteries into place to prevent bouncing when travelling over rough ground.

CONTROLS are a key for turning the scooter on and off and a speed lever that allows speed control and a horn. A battery power indicator - the LED meter indicates the amount of proportional charge left in the batteries.

FREEWHEELING
The scooter can be free wheeled by pulling out a lever located at the rear right hand corner of the base.

TRANSPORTING
The scooter can be dismantled into 4 parts for transport - seat, battery compartment, back wheel section and chassis unit. . No disconnection of batteries is required when dismantling.

Dismantling Instructions

1. Remove the basket by pulling it up gently.

2. Fold the seat back down and pull up on the seat lever. When the seat lever is up, pull straight up and the seat will lift off.

3. Remove the battery pack by pulling up and forward on the battery pack handle to release the Velcro tabs holding the battery pack in place.

4. To split the scooter, use the red release lever to release the motor section and lift up to separate.

5. Fold the front tiller down onto the scooter after turning the tiller knob anti clockwise until the small teeth disengage. Lay the tiller down and engage the tiller lock at the front of the scooter to stop the tiller moving in transit. It features an in built rear carry handle for use when dismantled.

State transit will only carry scooters with an unladen weight of less than 200 kg and which can be driven onto the bus, and manoeuvred to fit wholly within the designated wheelchair space under their own power. Any such scooters carried must also comply where relevant with the rules applying to wheelchairs.

Three wheeled mobility aids of any kind are unstable in normal bus operations and will not be carried because of the safety risk.

Accessible buses display a blue and white wheelchair sign on the front of the bus, and on the easy access door.

* Users who intend to use scooters or powered wheelchairs must ensure they have the necessary physical and cognitive skills to operate and manoeuvre them safely
* Stay within the legal speed limit of 10km/h
* Be aware that taking medication or driving under the influence of alcohol may affect the user's judgement
* Always make sure that you are clearly visible, particularly at night or on dull days-use the lights and reflectors and install a reflective flag high enough to be seen by motorists
* Wear a bicycle helmet whenever possible
* Slow down when you are near other people, especially pedestrians and cyclists
* Avoid stopping or driving on inclines greater than your scooter is designed for
* Use footpaths if possible. If there are no foot paths, plan to user quieter roads
* Plan your trip and avoid uneven surfaces, dips and potholes
* Ensure if you are carrying parcels that the load will not over-balance your scooter and the parcels do not interfere with your controls or vision

Licence & Insurance Requirements

In NSW, motorised wheelchairs that weigh less than 110 kg and cannot travel at more than 10 km/h do not have to be registered, provided they are being used by a person with mobility problems. A person driving a motorised wheelchair under these circumstances is defined as a pedestrian under the Australian Road Rules and is permitted to travel on a footpath or nature strip adjacent to the road.

Vehicles exempt from registration are covered by the nominal defendant scheme (administered by the State Insurance Regulatory Authority) if they are at fault in an accident in NSW on a road or road-related area and cause injury to another person. However, this cover is only valid in NSW.
