The Access & Participation Team is part of Disability Programs, NSW Dept of Education & Training. It is staffed by a team of professionals who provide consultancy, resources and information to personnel within NSW. The unit is responsible for the education of children and students with severe disabilities 0-20 years.
People who are disabled and wishing to access Adult and Community Education Services should first approach their local community college for advice and application.
The Centre for Training and Community Development provides a range of VETAB accredited courses and other workshops, consultancies and publications to people with disabilities and staff working in the disability services sector.
Inputs is the Educational Access Scheme of the University of Technology, Sydney. It caters for current school leavers who have experienced long term educational disadvantage during Years 11 and/or 12 or equivalent HSC studies.
Leap Frog Ability is an organisation focused on achieving better outcomes in everyday living for people with a disability, or who are disadvantaged, and those who support them. It runs five basic programs as well as enhancement projects that involve community participation and education. It has offices in Newcastle, Maitland and Muswellbrook.
Disability programs provide information, advice, funding support and policy in relation to students with disabilities and learning difficulties. This is provided to students in pre school, school, vocational education and training (secondary schools, Tafe, private RTOs and industry), adult and community education, adult migrant English services and art training through the National Art School.
An occupational therapy service to students with disabilities at Macquarie University, North Ryde, NSW. The service focuses on enabling students with disabilities, health and learning issues to flourish at university through student and goal centred occupational therapy intervention.
