This Home and Community Care (HACC) programme provides subsidised assistance to people who require modifications to their home to assist them conduct daily living activities and remain independent. It is available to home owners, mortgagees or private renters who are ageing, have a disability or care for someone at home who is ageing or has a disability.

The Independent Living Centre of NSW has an experienced team of access consultants who can assist builders, designers, owner and developers with the provision of access for people with a disability. The team has a thorough knowledge of BCA and DDA access requirements.
The Master Builders Association of NSW has an advisory service which can provide the names of current members, who are available to carry out home modifications for people with a disability. Info also available on their web site.
The Plan Centre of Newcastle Pty Ltd has building designers who specialise in designing residences, units and commercial properties for the access and mobility of disabled persons.
