A wheelchair accessible taxi fleet that uses the latest model Mercedes-Benz Vito to transport passengers in wheelchairs. Every taxi is accessible to most passengers who use wheelchairs. A child seat is provided in every taxi. Lime mostly operates in the Sydney metropolitan area, Central Coast, Hunter and Illawarra regions.
This NSW Government transport web site enables people to plan their trips via bus, train or ferry and to view / download timetables. Details are also provided on accessible transport. Information is also available via the telephone.
A free service called "Easy Cab" provided by Taxis Combined Services which allows a memory number on a Telstra T200 or Commander system or compatible telephone be programmed to enable a taxi to be called to your address by pressing one button. Information is immediately relayed to the taxi company's computer without talking or waiting. The taxi will be despatched automatically.
This scheme assists NSW residents who are unable to use public transport because of a qualifying severe and permanent disability. TTSS participants are allowed to travel by taxi at half fare. The maximum subsidy which can be claimed is $30.00. The scheme is administered by the NSW Ministry of Transport.
Sydney's Taxi Networks provide an integrated and easy to use service for passengers who use wheelchairs. This means no matter which Network is contacted, combined resources locate the closest available Wheelchair Accessible Taxi. The web site also includes NSW Country Networks.
