Information regarding registration and compulsory third party insurance and motorised (powered) wheelchairs. This information also applies to motorised three and four wheeled scooters.
It is not necessary by law for electric wheelchairs under 250 kg to be registered or to have lights attached. However, written permission is needed from the local RTA manager to authorise the driver of such a vehicle traveling from to specific location/s if she/he wish to travel along public roads at night without lights.
