CanTeen provides a high quality Australia wide peer support network of teenagers with cancer and their teenage brothers and sisters, who share experiences, offer resources, promote understanding, well being and leadership and also have fun together. Age 12-24.
The Deafblind Association (NSW) aims to facilitate the inclusion of all people who are deafblind into the community by raising public awareness of their unique disability, promoting the use of communication techniques and improving the services and facilities for people who are deaf - blind.
The Sir Vincent & Lady Fairfax Therapy Centre is for people aged 65 years and older. It is located in the Anglican Retirement Villages Castle Hill Complex. The Centre combines a physiotherapy clinic, a gymnasium and a heated indoor pool for hydrotherapy and leisure swims.
Charitable trust providing financial relief for people classified as `disadvantaged' and in receipt of some form of social security pension as their sole income. This includes assistance to purchase equipment for people with disabilities and people who have a terminal illness.
Conducts classes in non-verbal communications techniques, as well as mimed theatrical productions for schools, and some performances each year.
This government scheme aims to maintain the standard of medical devices available in Australia and to minimise the adverse effects of problems with devices. It provides an additional means by which unsafe products or procedures can be identified quickly so that appropriate action may be taken. It encourages voluntary co-operation between users, government and industry and should be used in conjunction with local reporting channels.
This organisation aims to promote learning in children by encouraging the completion of early childhood developmental stages, in an endeavour to prevent under achievement at school. There are several Gymbaroo Centres throughout Australia, operated by professionally qualified personnel.
Toileting equipment can be hired on a short term basis. Several models and sizes are available.
