Short Description

A folding multi wheeled mobile walking frame. It has a U-shaped base, adjustable height handles and a seat. A basket is located under the seat. The walker is free wheeled by squeezing the hand brake levers under the push handles. The walking speed can be regulated by turning knobs at the base of the unit. An optional LaserLight projects a light line on the floor between the handles. This provides a visual cue to help break freezing episodes. Available in one size.

More Details

Frame
Black with "U" shaped base that surround the user at the front and sides. The stable design reduces the possibility of the frame being tipped forward or backward. A clear plastic protective shield is attached to the front portion of the frame.

Seat
Lift up padded seat attaches to the cross brace by two screw on clamps.
Basket attaches to the frame beneath the seat by two screw on clamps

Back Support
Padded back support bar can be reversed by swinging it over for form a single push handle. This can be used one handed. When operated, the walker free wheels.

Hand Grips
The hand grips are contoured rubber and have a single lever brake on the left and right hand side. The handle height is adjusted by a releasing the lever on both sides and adjusting the push button mechanism.

Tension Adjustment
The rolling speed can be adjusted to control the walking speed. The rolling speed control knobs (tension adjustment knobs) are situated at the base of the unit and act on the drive wheels . Turning the knobs clockwise will slow the walking frame down for more control of its speed; turning anti clockwise will release the tension brakes for freer wheeling.

Drive Wheels
The wheels can traverse indoor and outdoor surfaces except grass.

Castors
The frame has five swivelling double castors with two on either side and one on the front beam. The castors give the frame greater manoeuvrability and enable it to turn in a space of 740mm. The spring loaded front castor system rolls over obstacles as high as 25mm.

Brakes
Two bicycle grips with cable brake are located under the handles. Squeezing the grips to the handles releases the brake. Releasing the grips applies the brakes.

To Fold
Release locking levers on both left and right side of seat. Handlebar section will fold against the base.

Transportation
The U-Step folds flat and can be transported in the back seat or boot of a medium size car.
