Note: 'Visually Impaired Persons Permit' holders are entitled to free travel on CityRail, Sydney Buses, Sydney Ferries and Newcastle Buses and Ferries services. Guide Dogs and Therapy Dogs are also permitted on these services.
Sydney Buses
Sydney Buses currently has over 100 routes with timetabled accessible trips with more coming on-line as new buses are delivered.
Depending on fleet availability, wheelchair accessible buses may also operate on some other trips.
All new buses acquired by State Transit feature kneeling suspension for level entry and a flat no-step floor to make it easier for the elderly and less mobile.
Features include an extending wheelchair ramp, accommodation for two wheelchairs, additional priority seating and increased interior lighting.
Refer to the web site timetable, information line or hard copy timetables for specific trip times. Accessible services are indicated in each timetable with the letter "a" against the relevant trip.
City Rail
CityRail continues to improve facilities at stations to assist customers with mobility restrictions.
Specific CityRail stations provide enhanced facilities such as lifts, ramps, continuous hand rails, hearing loops at ticket windows, wheelchair accessible toilets and platforms to train ramps for wheelchairs.

Sydney Ferries
All Sydney Ferries and major wharves accommodate wheelchairs and are easily accessible by people with limited mobility.
