Two nylon tapes, one consisting of tiny woven hooks and the other of soft small loops. To secure the fastener, press the two parts together.
* Unsuitable on wool or fabrics with a fluffy pile, because the hooks often catch on the fabric when closing.
* Widths available: 10mm, 16mm, 25mm, 38mm, 50mm and 100mm (Shann Accessories) Colours: 20 colours
* Clark Rubber sells packs, sew-on or handy dots.
* It is recommended that velcro be attached to a garment by machine, although it can be hand sewn or glued where appropriate with a clear bostick glue.
* The loop side is softer and when closed should always be facing the skin, keeping in mind also that even this when closed is slightly abrasive and direct contact with the skin when closed should be avoided.
* Velcro does add some stiffening and a certain amount of bulk and may not be suitable for fine fabrics.
* To prevent fluff from damaging the hooks and loops during washing of a garment, always close the velcro fastening.
* Dry cleaning and machine wringing will not damage velcro.
